Was it a real ghost or a person with obscure motives? Constant twists and turns, and a riveting romance brought me to an exhilarating ending where one last paranormal element left me chuckling no end. The story kept me guessing for a good while about the nature of the haunting. By far, this book was full of surprises, both the mystery and the romance tantalizing. Thankfully this one turned out to be nothing like the Heathcliff type, and the plot involved in much more delightful ways than I'd expected. Somehow, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, even though I dislike brooding and unsociable heroes in fiction. But that is where the similarities ends - Daphne and Petros and two wonderful characters that help make this story come to life. This book was very reminiscent of Wuthering Heights, with a brooding, sullen hero and a heroine who just wants to make his life better. Her easy flowing style of writing and her vivid descriptions allow me to thoroughly enjoy her work.
